Oportunidades voluntárias

Volunteer your time and talent to make a difference in a youth’s life! Communities for People (CFP) has several long and short-term opportunities available for you to mentor a youth, help build life skills, teach a hobby, e mais. Suas habilidades únicas, knowledge, and life experience make you the perfect person to help change lives. There is an adolescent waiting for you to support their goals, all you need to do is complete your volunteer application to get started.

Mentorship is a mutually fulfilling relationship for both youth mentees and volunteer mentors. A visão da Impact é que todos os jovens deixem os cuidados do Estado com resultados positivos, permanent adult connections, and options for a successful future.

Impact is designed to provide support and encouragement to youth aged 16-20 in residential care through regular contact with a positive adult role model from their community. Esses adultos ouvem as preocupações dos jovens com quem são encontrados, ajudá-los a desenvolver habilidades de resolução de problemas, provide relevant information and advice; encourage self-advocacy and self-reliance at home, na escola, no local de trabalho, e além.

Expectativas:

• Pelo menos um compromisso de um ano com o mentorado jovem.
• Mínimo 1 hora por semana ou 4 horas por mês compromisso de tempo.
• Keep in touch with your mentee and grow your relationship! Depending on the activity, you can meet in person or virtually, e você sempre pode trabalhar com o CFP se precisar de ajuda para encontrar maneiras de passar tempo juntos.

After your inquiry is received, a CFP employee will reach out to discuss your application and next steps, incluindo uma verificação de antecedentes.

Hobby or Skill-Based Volunteering

From life skills like cooking and sewing, to relaxing activities like knitting and games, we’re always looking for volunteers to teach youth in our programs new things! Whether you are looking for a one-time activity or a regular volunteer opportunity, we will work with you to find the right fit.

Vocational Volunteering

Youth in foster care sometimes struggle with career paths or knowing what to do next, and often do not have adults with interesting careers who they can discuss options with. If you are open to speaking with a youth virtually or in-person to help them understand what steps they need to take to have a career like yours, please be in touch! We are working to build a wide network of vocational volunteers so that youth in our care can discuss a variety of career paths with trusted adults.

If you want to make a difference but are not able to volunteer, please consider hosting a drive to collect much needed items off our wish list, or a fundraiser to support our lifechanging work in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
